September 17, 18 & 19 - The 28th Annual Polly Crockett Festival in downtown Cowan.  A fun-filled and educational weekend sponsored by Franklin County Chamber of Commerce.  The festival features over 100 juried arts and crafts, a play area for kids, hands-on demonstrations, Civil War reenactment, horse and buggy rides, food vendors, music and games, including the famous skillet toss.  Log on to www.franklincountychamber.com for more information and for vendor applications.
