Cowan Library

 

Cowan Library is a 1600-volume branch library of the Highland Rim Library System.

Located in the Cowan Welcome Center, Cowan Library features an impressive selection of fiction, non-fiction, books-on-tape, children's books, and other selections all in one convenient location.  You can even purchase a fresh coffee from the Welcome Center snack bar while you browse!

A publicly-accessible computer with Internet service is also

available.  The Highland Rim system also features an

inter-library loan program to help you find volumes not currently

on the shelf.

Cowan Branch Library is open during the same hours as the Cowan Welcome Center, which is generall Monday through Friday from 9 to 5 and Saturday from 9 to noon.  Carter Smith is the City Librarian and curator for Cowan Welcome Center.  He can be reached at (931) 968-9877.

Book-Signings and Books for Sale:

Cowan Library proudly hosts book signings and also sells Cowan-related books.

We are especially proud of our selection of historical fiction books by Kathy Lynn Copeland who had ancestors in the Cowan area many years before the Civil war.  You can purchase or review her books in Cowan Library or you can visit the website www.anniesbook.com.
