Cowan Organizations
- Cowan Commercial Club is one of Tennessee's oldest civic organizations. Founded in the year 1922, Commercial Club works to promote a more cohesive community with a healthier local economy. The group meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 6:30PM in the Training Center at Cowan Center for the Arts. - Cowan Ministerial Association: historic
organization that brings together churches and pastors in the greater Cowan community to glorify Jesus Christ, promote Christian fellowship among the various congregations, and reach out to the community with God's love and mercy.
- Craig Brock Foundation: A memorial foundation established by Craig Brock, a beloved young Cowan citizen who died of an extremely rare form of cancer. Craig eagerly provided oncologists with the opportunity to study his illness so that future cases could be treated with greater ease. The Foundation works to promote meaningful relationships with cancer patients and to provide transportation and hospitality as they undergo treatments.
- Cub Scout Pack 361: Continuing a long tradition of scouting for Cowan youth! Meetings are held on Monday's at 6:00 p.m. in the Bill Miller Center.
- Franklin County Arts Guild:
organization of local artists and supportive members who are interested in promoting fine arts and crafts in Franklin County, Tennessee and surrounding area. The primary focus is on advancing and providing arts education and awareness for the youth and the general public and in actively seeking venues for local artists to exhibit, showcase, and sell their works. Gallery and office located at 110 S. Tennessee Avenue.
- Lodge No. 517 of the Free and Accepted Masons, Scottish and York Rites: sponsor of numerous charities and programs for visually impaired and crippled and burned children, located on S. Tennessee Avenue, meetings on the first Thursday of each month at 7PM.
- Railroad Park Committee: partially endowed local organization dedicated to the maintenance, repair, and enhancement of the downtown railroad park. Your contributions of time, money, and materials is welcomed and encouraged. For more information, contact Mildred Hatchett at 967-7546.
- Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge: oldest Anglican missionary agency in the World! Provider of Bible and Prayer Book translation, books, Bibles, and other theological resources for seminaries and seminarians in impoverished regions, contact Patti Posan at 931-598-1103. Book warehouse located in Cowan on East Cumberland Street.
